Say hello to big and beautiful Lorelei! This lovely 6 year old was adopted from RBARI several years ago and returned when her owner could no longer care for her. Transitioning from a quiet home to bustling shelter life wasn't easy for Lorelei, but with lots of extra TLC from her human friends her personality has blossomed!

Lorelei has been living it up in foster with one of our devoted staff members. When she's not cuddling up next to her foster mom, she loves to bury herself in fluffy blankets and chase her feather toy.

Because of her size, Lorelei has some trouble reaching her hind end to keep herself clean! Until she loses a little more weight she will just need a quick daily wipe down to help keep things squeaky clean. It's not her favorite part of the day, but with the help of lots of yummy treats she does very well!

Submit Application

Once your application is sent, you will receive an email with instructions/next steps. Please allow our team up to one week to respond.

Approve Application

Our team will perform all relevant veterinary and landlord references and will call with the status of your application.or any questions.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once your application is approved, our staff will call your family, and schedule a time for you to meet the animal of interest.

4.
Take the Pet Home

Once all family members meet with our team, and all agree to the match, you can take the animal home at that time.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

You will be sent the adoption paperwork, and further information that is needed to complete the adoption.

More about this shelter

Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. is founded on the belief that all animals have a natural right to humane treatment including proper care and safe shelter. Due to overpopulation, there are insufficient homes for most cats and dogs. Some are lucky enough to find temporary shelter and a few even find permanent homes. However it is a devastating fact that the majority are either euthanized or forced to chance life without shelter.

To support our belief and to relieve the unnecessary suffering of animals, we shall:
1.Extend every effort to find, evaluate, and secure good adoptive homes for animals in our care.
2.Provide animals with medical services and behavior therapy to the extent of our ability.
3.Adhere to a “no-kill” policy: animals shall not be euthanized for the purpose of providing space for new animals.
4.Adhere to a 100% spay and neuter policy.
5.Maintain continuing humane education programs and in particular to schools.
