My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Mikey, a lively and lovable canine with a tail that wags faster than you can say "treat!" My journey so far has been one of resilience and hope, and I'm eagerly awaiting my next chapter with a forever family.

My previous owner made a tough decision on April 16, 2024. They realized that the shabby state of our backyard fence just couldn't keep up with my spirited nature. Rather than watch me feel penned in, they made the selfless choice to surrender me to find a new home where I could thrive.

At just over a year old, having celebrated my first birthday in March 2024, I'm still very much a puppy at heart. Playtime is my favorite time, whether it's chasing a ball, exploring new scents, or simply enjoying a good belly rub. And speaking of health, I'm neutered, vaccinated, and while I tested low positive for heartworms, I'm on the road to recovery thanks to a special grant set up by the animal shelter.

I may be a tad particular when it comes to canine companions-males make me a bit wary, but spayed females are like peanut butter to my jelly. But above all, my heart belongs with humans. I thrive on their company and can't wait to shower my new family with endless tail wags and affection.

So, if you're searching for a furry friend to fill your days with laughter and love, look no further. I'm here, patiently waiting for that special someone to give me a second chance and create countless new memories together. Let's embark on this journey of companionship and joy, shall we?
