My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Graham, a resilient elderly guinea pig navigating life's challenges with grace. As a single senior female, Graham recently faced a profound loss when her bonded mate and sister, Jack, crossed the rainbow bridge.

Despite being both blind and deaf, Graham continues to exude warmth and affection, requiring specialized care that includes gentle handling, consistent routines, and a safe, enriched environment. Seeking companionship once more, Graham eagerly looks forward to joining another single female pig or becoming part of a caring group where she can share her golden years in comfort and companionship.

If you're ready to provide an amazing retirement home for Graham, send the following application to this email: victoria@spca.bc.ca

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
