My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Jazzy and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up as a stray by Animal Control and taken to a scary place called a shelter.  Unfortunately, the shelter was reallly crowded and I heard since I had been there for a while that I ended up on something bad called "the list", but BCAA heard about me and said they would help me  ... yeah!  When I first arrived at the shelter, I was really scared but the shelter had a foster program where I got to go out and spend some time in a home.  My foster mom says I was such a good girl, that I got along with all the other dogs I met and even was good with those things called cats.  And even though I am a pretty active girl, I also loved to cuddle.  No one is exactly sure of my breed mix but the best guess is maybe german shepherd ('cause of my coloring) and maybe husky ('cause of my cute curly Q tail and general build); whatever I'm mixed with, my foster mom says I'm a cute girl always with a smile on my face and ready for an adventure.  I am about 18mos old so I'm fully grown at 41lbs and past all of that puppy foolishness.  nd weigh 29.5lbs ... not too small and not too big!  I have gotten along with the other dogs I have met and haven't really paid any attention to the cats.   While I would much prefer to be out with you, I have done really well in my crate overnight without any accidents or tearing up of my bedding although I will let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you.  I love going for walks and adventures and in my excitement on being out, I do pull some; however, since I love my food and treats that will be great for any future training we can do together.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
