My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

BOUDICA hails from Kenora and was part of a litter of 10 however we just got her and her sister, Mulan. She’s had her first set of puppy vaccines and she’s microchipped. We have no knowledge on either parent so the breed we have her as and the size she’ll grow to be is just a guess. This happy little tail wagger is such a loving little girl who’s excitedly awaiting the arrival of her family to take her home. Her easy going nature will make her a great fit for any family especially seeing as she loves to give kisses and and be snuggled up beside you.
BOUDICA is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it all night but she’ll let you know when she wakes up in the morning as she needs to get outside for the bathroom. Housetraining is a work in progress but she will go outside when taken. She’s only just started to go outside on her leash and she enjoys going on little walks. She has lots of toys to play with and she enjoys the playing with the crinkly ones. She’s very well socialized with other dogs as there’s 2 small ones and another puppy in her foster home.
BOUDICA is looking for a family who will take her on lots of walks and hikes to help her burn off that puppy energy. She enjoys going in a vehicle and will also be up for being taken on an adventure or two. She requires a fenced yard to keep her safe. Children should be age 6 plus and be loving and kind towards a puppy. She has met a cat so as long as the cat in the home is dog savvy then they should get along.
Puppies are fun and cute but also require a lot of work, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to be in agreement to sign her up for obedience/puppy training in order to adopt her. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and will be performed by 6 months of age. We also need her adopter to be in agreement with this in order to adopt her her.
If you would like to meet BOUDICA then please complete the adoption application to do so.

Additional adoption info

Dogs: $750 (as of March 2024)
Cats: $250
The adoption process involves a brief application for the pet you are interested in. We will review your application and if you appear to be a good match for the pet, we will contact you for a phone interview. If that is successful we then do a vet reference check. If all goes well we will then set up a meet and greet for you and anyone else living in the home including any resident dogs with the pet. We then ask you to go home and contemplate your decision on adopting the pet and let us know your decision within 24hrs of meeting the pet. If applicable we will then move forward with the adoption at a mutually agreed upon time.

Go meet their pets

We only set up meet and greets with our animals once an adoption application has been submitted. We do occasionally have meet and greets with our animals at Global Pet Foods in the Barrie area.

You can check out the available pets on our rescuegroups website or on our rescue Facebook page.

More about this rescue

We’re a small rescue with a big mission to save animals in our Northern communities, local Pounds and owner surrenders (under certain circumstances.) We’re located in Barrie, Ontario and we serve the area of Simcoe County and within a two hour radius of the Barrie area.
Our intakes are placed in loving foster homes until they’re assessed, vetted including vaccines, microchip and a spay/neuter (if over 6 months of age) before they leave the rescue to be adopted. Female puppies are spayed at 6 months of age and males 8 months of age.)
We’re always looking for additional foster homes as we can only do intakes if we have foster homes for them to go into.
