My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet pittie Bahamian potcake mix seeks forever family willing to lose their hearts to this 3 year old girl whose number one goal in life is to fall asleep on your lap! Ruby had a tough beginning, neglected and chained in a small outdoor space with no protection or adequate food. She is now up to 50 pounds, and stands just 20 inches tall at the shoulders – a great size. Ruby rarely barks or growls. Instead, she is happy to see everyone and readily presents her tummy for rubs. Ruby loves to go for walks. She easily accepted a leash and is now improving daily on her ability to walk next to her human handler.

We are working on reducing Ruby’s outdoor anxiety (she is afraid of loud noises, heavy wind, and is easily startled, especially on walks after dark. Probably a remnant of her outdoor, unsheltered upbringing.) She has had positive interactions with at least two neighborhood dogs, showing a desire to play. Did I mention that Ruby loves the water?

She swims in the ocean happily, sporting a hot pink lifejacket so that we can keep her on a long leash. A real water baby! Ruby loves stuffed toys and chews of all kinds, happily amusing herself and then falling asleep. Warning – she has the cutest snores! Her fosters are starting to crate train, but Ruby has already mastered the sit and stay commands.

If you need a big warm baby to cuddle and love, Ruby is your girl!

Ruby needs a home prior to her being transported back from the Bahamas. If you think Ruby could be your furever bestie, INQUIRE TODAY!!

More about this rescue

Mission

Our mission is to help all animals in need and educate pet owners about the realities of pet guardianship. We serve our community through the endorsement of spay or neuter for all companion animals, and promoting respect and responsibility for all animals on this earth to enhance the lives of pet owners and their companion animals.

Overview

Braveheart Bulliez K9 ResQ is a 501(c)3 organization headed by Carolyn O’Brien and a network of experienced and dedicated animal rescue volunteers. We work with local shelters to:
-- identify animals in need of immediate rescue
-- provide vaccination and spaying/neutering (as necessary)
-- relocate the animals to caring foster homes for care for socialization and rehabilitation
-- seek qualified adopters to give these animals, new, loving homes!

Description

We are a 501(c)3 organization completely supported by donations that are used for paying for medical, food, and transportation costs. Braveheart Bulliez Rescue actively searches for permanent homes for its rescued animals and has a specialty for abuse and neglect. We also provide assistance to individuals as well as other animal rescue groups fostering animals in need of permanent new homes.
