Shadow is a large, happy, engaging boy who is about 5 years old. He came into rescue after being surrendered to a local emergency vet clinic. Shadow had been hit by a car and required treatment that previous owners declined to pursue.
Shadow is almost completely healed from hip injuries and ready to find his forever home. He loves nothing better than keeping his foster company and following her around the ranch. He is neutral with the other dogs, doesn't engage with play, but likes their company. Shadow loves to go for car rides and walks pretty well on a leash. He sleeps quietly on a dog bed or in a crate all night and has not had any accidents in the house.
It is not known how he would do with small critters or cats, but he will play fetch all day long. When overly excited, he can become mouthy, and needs reminders not to grab things inappropriately.
Shadow is looking for a home with someone who will include him in regular activities, exercise, and have the ability to handle this large boy.

Additional Adoption Information
For more information and to see when this dog will be attending an Adoption Day, please see our Dogs page on our main website. (https://www.gcgsr.org/adopt_info.html) We operate within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Sacramento area, the Central Valley down to Merced, and Lake Tahoe. A reasonable driving distance is determined by where one of our volunteers is willing to drive within our areas of service. That means we don't adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state.
Puppy Requirements
We have special Requirements for Adopting a Puppy and a separate Puppy Questionnaire that must be completed on puppies. Please see our Requirements for Adopting a Puppy (https://www.gcgsr.org/puppies.html) email us at info@gcgsr.org for more information.
