My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lyric is a beautiful one-year old female Beagle/Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on April 15, 2024 by Good Samaritans who found her on Silver Globe Road in the Marietta Ohio area and feared for her safety since she was in danger of being struck in traffic. Lyric was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.

This little sweetheart has a tan-and-white short smooth coat, a long tail with a white tip on the end, and an adorable symmetrically-marked face with soulful brown eyes that beg for kindness, a white stripe on her forehead, a black button nose, a dusting of white on her slender muzzle, and short floppy ears.

Lyric has a sweet, rather demure, disposition and an affectionate personality. She was a bit timid when she first entered our shelter, but she wanted attention from everyone who was near her in the lobby of our shelter (the kind folks who brought her in as well as our kennel techs and photographer). Lyric is the kind of dog that you instinctively want to hold close and reassure her that she is in good hands with people who already love her.

Lyric is a petite young lady who weighs 25 lbs. She has had a litter of puppies sometime in the past.

These photos of Lyric were taken late in the afternoon of April 17th when HSOV Volunteer Jennie Sherrard accompanied her for outdoor glamour pictures in the green grass. Lyric loved attention from Jennie .. She was also very curious about other dogs being walked in the distance and seemed to want to make their acquaintance.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Lyric was held for three days so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership .. But nobody called or came looking for her.
