Introducing Valerie, a gentle soul with a story of resilience and hope. This sweet bunny found herself back at our shelter through no fault of her own, as her previous owners could no longer provide the time or space she deserved. Unfortunately, Valerie's health was also neglected, leaving her in need of extra care and attention. Despite her challenges, Valerie remains a beacon of strength, and our dedicated team of vets and fosters is working tirelessly to ensure she receives the care she needs to thrive once again. It's been determined that Valerie faces both audio and visual impairments, making her journey to recovery all the more remarkable. While Valerie may be initially shy due to her past experiences, her gentle nature and quiet resilience shine through. With patience, love, and understanding, she's slowly learning to trust again, and her progress is nothing short of inspiring. Valerie's ideal forever home would be one filled with patience and compassion, where she can continue to receive the care and support she needs to flourish. Are you ready to open your heart and home to this brave little bunny? With your love and care, Valerie is sure to blossom into the happy and healthy bunny she was always meant to be.

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease caused by a calicivirus that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. It is not contagious to people or other animals. For the first time, the virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. UPDATE: In May 2021, California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has confirmed new cases of RHDV in rabbits in Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura County. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. More about this rescue

We are a volunteer-driven organization working in San Diego County for nearly 25 years. We want to ensure that rabbits are not adopted out unaltered, that they find good homes where they will be cherished as indoor family companions, and that we educate our community on the responsible care of indoor rabbit companions.
