Hi there! My name's Ella, and I'm looking for a new best friend.
I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner was moved into a nursing home. When I came to Heal Animal Rescue I was in really rough shape. My entire body was covered in layers upon layers of matted fur. Every inch of my skin was being pulled on because of all the mats. It took the groomer a long time to shave me and get rid of all of the matted fur. Now I'm feeling like a whole new dog!!! It had been YEARS since I was able to feel someone scratch my belly or behind my ears!
The people here at the shelter say I'm the sweetest girl and that the family who adopts me will be really lucky. I love everyone I meet, and would be good in a home with other dogs.
Unfortunately I have lymes disease and it was left untreated for quite some time. Because of this my kidneys aren't working quite as well as they once did. I'm leaking some protein into my urine, and have started medications to help with this. I'm also on some special food to help take stress off of my kidneys. My future family will have to work with their vet to help keep me in good health in the future.
I know it might be scary to adopt a new family member with some medical concerns, but I hope you give me a chance. I have so much love to give, and I cannot wait to start my new life as someone's very best friend!
Please give me a chance.
Love, Ella.
