My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
Meet Salamander #192407 (aka the 40-lb love bomb)!
This 2-year-old adventure buddy is more than just a pretty face. Salamander is a whiz at learning tricks and loves to play! In her foster home, she quickly mastered excellent leash manners and a ton of other cues: Sit, Down, Come, Spin, Drop It, Place (bed/mat), Walk (heel), and Break (for on-leash sniffing adventures).
She'd love to join you for runs, bike rides, or perhaps explore the world of dog sports like agility. This brainiac is always up for a challenge and thrives with a consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and clear guidance (boundaries are her jam!).
Here's a sneak peek into a day in the life of Salamander:
Mid-Air Treat-Catching Champion
Kong connoisseur
Snuggle enthusiast
Snoring Crate Champion
Tug, Fetch, long walks, and Zoomies
Dinner gobbler
Rarely barks
Enjoys meeting people on walks
If you're an active individual or family who enjoys a curious, playful, and affectionate dog, then look no further!

A staff member writes: I was honored to take Salamander on a boroughbreak this last sunday and I can't express how much fun I had with her! She is an energetic 2 year old medium mixed breed dog. She is a petite girl at around 40 pounds but she truly doesn't know it, she has big dog energy! She is a driven hard working dog who needs something to do otherwise she will create something to do. She is a big fan of long walks and bouncing around and having a good time. She needs to work on her leash manners but with how treat and toy motivated she is that shouldn't take too long. She loved getting to explore the city with me and she is excited to get to explore with you! She needs a family that is dedicated to working on her manners using a fear free way.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I am not one to sit still! I will flourish in a home with someone that will keep me mentally and physically active!

I am used to living an active lifestyle! I would love to go running or hiking with you!
