My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I’m Shannon, a pretty Staffy/Corgi mix, long and low with honey-gold eyes, a brindle coat, and a happy friendly personality. I am about 3 years old, weigh 40 lbs and I was recently voted “World's Best Mama” for raising an awesome litter of puppies. I was simply amazing at my job, a nice mixture of stern and motherly, sweet and loving, playful yet so gentle. Those are the qualities that sum me up, although these days I’m cutting loose and living it up like a puppy myself. I love playing and doing hardcore parkour between two doggy beds. My favorite toys are stuffed with squeakers preferably and my favorite treat is really anything. If you hand it to me I will probably eat it and want another one. I’m not too picky. I’m very affectionate and if you don't mind 46 lbs in your lap, then I’m a lap dog. I love cuddles and kisses, and going for walks, and I don't mind taking a ride in the car. I’m already housebroken, I rarely bark, and I’m good in a crate. I love all people young and old and I am an amazing companion and playmate for any dog friend. I started this journey as a pregnant stray dog in San Antonio Texas, lucky enough to get picked up by a rescue just in time for the pups to arrive. Now that I’m spayed and ready to go, I can finish this journey by moving to the East Coast next week and topping it off as a much-loved forever dog!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.

More about this rescue

We are a small group devoted to saving dogs from the multitudes of high kill shelters in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and California. We specialize in saving small to medium breed types and re-homing in the North East where there is less unwanted dog overflow and a high volume of qualified adopters.
