My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Not only is Richard incredibly handsome, but he's also as sweet as sugar, boasting a playful and happy-go-lucky personality that instantly endears him to everyone he meets. A quick learner, Richard already sits on command and shows a friendly demeanor towards other dogs, signaling his readiness to join and adapt to any family willing to offer him a loving forever home. Imagine the fun, the walks, and the endless cuddles with this delightful boy who's eager to become your loyal "Fur Baby." Don't miss the chance to welcome Richard into your life and heart. Give us a call at (423-442-1015) or come by to meet him in person. Your search for the perfect furry companion might just end with Richard's heartwarming gaze.

More about this shelter

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
