My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This puppy was born from a litter of 5 (posted separately here in the website). We rescued the mother as a stray, she’s a tricolor Basset Hound mix (pic of mother and siblings attached), the father of the litter is unknown. Our best guess is that this puppies will be medium size once fully grown (25-40lbs). Four of the five puppies (all the males) were born with short tails, like the mother. The puppies will be ready to be adopted after they turn 8 weeks old and are Vet checked. Their DOB is March 8, 2024. They’ll be ready to be adopted by the first weekend of May.

Included with each of the puppies adoption:

- Vet wellness exam
- First set of vaccines at 8 weeks old (DHPP)
- Deworming up to date (at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks old)
- Fecal test (treatment if positive)
- Flea/tick/heartworm/worms preventive given at 8 weeks old (Simparica Trio)
- Microchip with lifetime enrollment (AKC reunite)
- Puppy collar
- Adoption contract
- Copy of the mother’s DNA test. She came back as 40% Basset Hound, 25% Cocker Spaniel and the rest were small portions of other breeds
- Puppy blanket with mother’s scent
- Some of their current puppy food (Kirkland)

As a side note, we spay/neuter our dogs no sooner than 6 months old, for their safety and health reasons. We’ll send the pups with a spay/neuter agreement so their new families have this done once they’re old enough.

If interested in adopting this puppy feel free to fill out an application through our application link. Please note, we are a rescue that mainly rescues Beagles, therefore our application is directed to the Beagle breed. If you’re applying to adopt a Basset Hound or a mixed breed dog please complete the application sharing the experience you may have with such breed(s) or with other dog breeds (not necessarily Beagles). Thank you!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Once we have an approved application on file, we set up an appointment to meet our available dogs that are ready to be adopted, with the potential adopter. If the dog is a good fit at the meeting appointment, the dog can go home the same day. We provide a folder with all the Vet records we have from the dog as well as the adoption contract, some of the dog’s current food, leash and collar. We usually meet in local dog parks or pet stores (San Diego, CA).

More about this rescue

We’re a Beagle rescue in San Diego, CA. Although we mainly rescue Beagles, we also receive other hounds in need such as Basset Hounds and Beagle/Basset Hound mixes. We’ve been Beagle owners for the last 8 years and we decided to start rescuing about 4 years ago simply because we love the breed, we love helping hounds finding loving forever homes. So far we’ve placed about 150+ hounds successfully in adoption.
