My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skittles is a lovely 17lb, approximately 2 years old,  Scottish terrier mix. Skittles loves, loves, loves her humans and is very much a velcro dog in that she wants to always be where her humans are. She can be a tiny bit skittish when meeting new people or other dogs, but quickly becomes very friendly. She walks well on a leash and has a very moderate energy level except for first thing in the morning and the last thing at night before bed. Her energy at the start and end of the days is frenetic and can be a bit overwhelming as she's super intense. However, if you just give her 5-10 minutes of your time and pet and love on her she will chill and become a "normal" terrier again. She is a very typical terrier in that she's quite energetic. She loves to go for walks and to play fetch. She can ocassionally get a little mouthy and for this reason, a home with younger kids is likely not ideal; however, she adores all children. Skittles is MOSTLY housebroken with a doggie door, but often needs encouragement first thing in the morning and last thing at night to go outside. She's not always able to hold it overnight and won't tell you she needs to go out, but will use potty pads if available..She has been a challenge to potty train and will most certainly have accidents in her new home.

'Skittles' adoption fee is $250. She is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations, has had a veterinary wellness check and is spayed and microchipped. Interested adopters can submit an application for her via our website at www.4pups.org. Click the Adopt button under her photos and that will take you to the application.

Because we are a home based rescue with very few foster families, we do allow people to come to our home to view dogs BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. An application must be filled out and approved before the appointment is set. We have very few recognized events but can be found wandering farmers markets and pets stores with 'adopt me' vests indicating availability. Please email info@4pups.org if you have any questions.
