No dog has a greater zest for life than 2-year-old Nico! All 68 pounds of this black and white beauty percolate with puppy-like enthusiasm and energy (and a dash of clumsiness), so joyful is he to be safe in his foster home with his doting foster mom and his two reassuring doggy foster friends. Not only is he absolutely adorable and supremely soft, he’s sweetness itself and loves snuggling and cuddling with his foster mom, resting his head on her, and showing her his paw for even more love. As active as he is affectionate, he loves playing continually with his younger doggy foster friend in the backyard, running circles with squeaky toys, and going for walks, improving his leash skills daily. In fact, Nico, with the proper training, will make an ideal long walking, running and hiking partner. Famously fond of toys that sound crunchy when bitten or chewed as well as rawhide-type treats, he prances around with them for a while before settling down to gnaw on them. While he currently knows no commands, Nico is extremely intelligent, eager to please, and being highly motivated by love and by food, should prove easy to teach. Almost fully house-trained to use a doggy door and honing his doggy manners, Nico now needs a loving adoptive home, perhaps with another playful pup, that will perfect his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him mentally and physically fulfilled fur-ever.
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption.

Our adoption process is:
1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.
2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
