Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maple von Mosbach is a 6 month old, 10 pound, female designer mix puppy. Everywhere she goes, she turns heads! She is a very playful pup who loves fetch, tug of war, and exploring. Being a typical puppy, she can be mouthy but redirects well. Maple is house trained (with continued positive reinforcement and scheduled potty breaks) and walks great on leash. She sleeps through the night and is crate trained but prefers to sleep at the foot of the bed to be close to her humans. She is very trusting, loving and joyful. Happily greeting her foster family when they walk through the door and then following each and every one of them around the house. She equally showers affection upon all family members. Maple would love a home with another playful pup - she is so incredibly playful with endless amounts of puppy energy but settles easily and will happily take herself off to a nap when needed. She would be even happier if you applied for her today!
Maple von Mosbach is in a foster home, offsite, and is NOT at our rescue location in Los Angeles.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
