Well, now, folks, let me spin you a yarn about a pup named Dexter. Sit back and take a sip of your sweet tea as I tell you the tale of this here Coonhound fella.
I reckon Dexter's story starts back in the woods, where he was found as a sprout of just 8 weeks old, living wild and free with his kinfolk. Born into the great outdoors, he's got a hankering for adventure and a nose that could sniff out a possum in the dark.
Now, Dexter ain't your ordinary hound dog. No sir, he's got a heart as big as the Mississippi and a love for critters of all kinds. Cats, dogs, kids – you name it, he's wagging his tail at 'em. But don't let that fool you, he's got a wild streak too, yearning for a romp in a large, fenced-in backyard where he can stretch his legs and chase the wind.
Housetrained as can be, Dexter's got manners fit for a Southern gentleman. He'll charm his way into your heart with those big ol' puppy eyes and a wag that could wag the clouds right out of the sky.
Now, if you take a gander at his photos, you'll see a DNA test, a testament to his mixed heritage. But let me tell ya, that don't define him none. He's mostly hound mixes, and that means one thing – he's happiest when he's outside, soaking up the sun and chasing those scents on the breeze.
So, if you're an active family looking for a companion to join you on your adventures, look no further than Dexter. He's ready to trade in the woods for a home filled with love, laughter, and maybe a few treats thrown in for good measure.
Dexter currently lives in a foster home, so if you are interested in meeting and adopting him, please email Ethan at eclaridge@angelsofassisi.org to set up a meet-and-greet.

Adoptable Pets in Foster Homes:
Some of our available pets are currently in foster homes. If an animal is currently in a foster home, it is noted in the animal's biography online. The next step is to fill out an adoption application. You can complete and application online (preferred) or stop by the adoption center to fill out a paper application. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. If you rent your home, we will need to contact your landlord or see a copy of your lease to verify the pet policy. Most applications can be approved within 24-48 hours.
