My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Emmons (friends and family call her Emmy) is a 5 year old, 45 lb Red Heeler mix. She has the most beautiful markings and the cutest wagging, nubby tail! Super sweet and calm, very attentive, wants to be close to her human. Emmons is a bit bashful and cautious of her new environment, but she is showing a little more confidence and playfulness every day. Her face is very expressive and she's easy to read! She does her bashful look, happy look, big eyed surprised look, side-eye check-in look, and more. She is not interested in toys or chew bones yet, but she appreciates chicken feet, and is very interested in the snuffle mat. Emmons is a smart girl and listens and responds very well. She is house-broken and can be trusted with run of the house. She walks well on a leash and likes to sniff the neighborhood along the way. She also has great manners on car rides. She doesn't live with other dogs in her foster home, but we think she would be fine with another laid-back dog. Emmons is a cattle dog and may have tendencies to herd her people, so we are recommending no kids under the age of 6.
Bottom line: Emmons is a wonderful girl that just wants someone to love and be loved back. Easy peasy little mama bear. The first step to meeting Emmons is to submit your application at www.humanetomorrow.org, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Submit Application

You may complete an application via our website at http://www.humanetomorrow.org/adopt/.

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.

Our adoption fees are...
Cats:
$150 for most kittens and cats

Dogs:
$250-$300 for most puppies and dogs

The adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.

Humane Tomorrow reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.

More about this rescue

Humane Tomorrow is a non-profit 501(c), all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted and abused animals in Flower Mound and the surrounding areas. We are also committed to spay/neuter assistance and education to companion animal guardians.

We do not have a shelter, so all animals in our program are placed in temporary foster homes until permanent homes can be found.
