Meet Aspen (heterochromia)
Aspen, dob 04/2018, was a stray that showed up at a good Samaritan's house after the ice storm. Since she already had several special needs cats, she reached out to us to see if we could take Aspen. A patient foster was found.
Aspen is friendly with his foster Kathy, but he still doesn't trust strangers. Who knows how Aspen was treated as a stray living on the streets. We know someone cared enough to get him fixed because his ear is tipped.
Aspen's teeth were beyond saving. He did go to the vet and had most of his teeth removed and he is no longer in pain. He passed his lab work with flying colors! The vet estimated his age between 5-7 years old.
Aspen is a big boy - 16+ pounds. When we first got him he was starving all the time. Now that he knows he will always be fed he is much less demanding. Do you like cats that talk? Aspen is a talker.
It's hard to tell in the photos, but Aspen has one blue eye and one green eye. The last picture is when we first got him. The transformation is amazing.
Aspen is excellent at using the litter box. He will need a heavy duty cat tree since he is a big boy. A good nail trim monthly will be a must for Aspen.
We don't know how Aspen does with other animals. His size might intimidate other cats.
We are hoping to find a patient adopter for Aspen. No small children. He has taken months to come out of his shell. The foster just let Aspen adjust at his own pace. Today she reported that when she came home Aspen was lounging on the love seat instead of hiding under the bed. Aspen also purred for the first time yesterday. (see video) PROGRESS!
As it states below, application required and we do deliver kitties to their new homes. We do everything we can do to find purrfect homes for our kitties.
$100 adoption fee.
Hardest part of rescue is:
- Not being able to save every cat.
- Finding excellent homes for our rescues.
