RESCUING FREDDIE
Our friends and FTTF supporters from Barbells For Bullies reached out to us looking for help. Two of their board members found a dog in rough shape and his stray hold was up, meaning he was urgent and at risk for euthanasia. They worked with us to help find him a foster home, so Freddie got his Freedom Ride!

ABOUT FREDDIE
Freddie is around six years old and 65 pounds. He is an affectionate older guy who is also housebroken and crate trained. He has low energy and loves to lounge around preferably with his person right by his side. His favorite activities are hanging out on the couch, chewing on his bones, going on walks, and getting rides in the car. He doesn't love baths but will tolerate them and get in the tub on his own if given some motivations (in the form of treats). When it comes to humans, he’s a calm, sweet, low energy gentleman. He’s eager to please and a sensitive soul, he gets his feelings hurt even by a raised voice and will do as asked.

Freddie hasn't been around cats and would do best with older kids, as younger children may be a bit much for this low-key boy. He does well with the submissive female pitbull and small yorkie in his foster home, but high-energy dogs can cause him some stress & reactivity so he would be best with calm housemates or as an only dog. He likes playing with dogs, but needs an owner who has the experience and confidence to manage him when he gets overstimulated. Freddie can also get reactive around food, so he must be fed in his crate, especially if there are other animals in the home.

Overall, Freddie is really is an easy boy, quiet in his crate, and happy to lay on the couch. He is a wonderful companion and just needs a comfy place to rest his head in his older years. Do you have a spot for him on your couch?

ADOPTING FREDDIE
Freddie is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped. He is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative. He is eating premium grain-free dry dog food. More about this rescue

Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue is a 501 c 3 no-kill, charitable organization dedicated to the care of homeless, unwanted, abused, and neglected pitbulls, particularly those who are considered hard to place or with special needs. All dogs under our care are provided with food, shelter, veterinary care, as well as basic house-training and obedience until placement is found. We will try to match the dog and appropriate, loving, and permanent home based on the dog's temperament & personality evaluation as well as the prospective home's vet & home check. Veterinary care provided will ensure that the dog is in general good health, up-to-date on vaccinations, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Additionally,"Friends to the Forlorn" Pitbull Rescue Inc. takes pride in educating the public in the importance of proper and responsible pitbull ownership, spaying & neutering, as well as the humane care and treatment of all animals.
