My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Rocky!  This loveable boy was born around January 2022.  Fully grown at 75 pounds, he is thin and lanky.  His DNA is 89% Great Pyrenees, and the rest is Anatolian Shepherd Dog, Maremma Sheepdog, Australian Cattle Dog, and Golden Retriever.

While shy around new people, once he bonds with you, he loves having your attention.  He follows you everywhere, and tries his best to be a lap dog!  He does well with kids and allows them to approach him for petting.

Rocky does great meeting new dogs.  After they get acquainted, he loves playing with them and being close.  He might do best with big dogs, since he sometimes plays a little rough.  He eases up if he sees that other dog doesn’t like it.

He is leash trained and loves going for walks.  He is great in dog parks, too.

Rocky is fully house trained. He has no need for a crate and can hurt himself when confined to one because he does his best to escape it.

Rocky doesn’t bark very much.  Rather than bark at things that make him uncomfortable, he prefers to avoid.

He does well in the car.  After he happily jumps in, he wants to get right up front with you.

With his low-to-moderate amount of energy, he could probably tolerate an apartment setting if he gets long daily walks and/or has a canine buddy to play with throughout the day.

Rocky wants to find his forever person and never leave their side.  If he initially has separation anxiety, that will improve as he gets comfortable in his new home.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
