My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy, I’m cowboy . I’m a 6 month old blue heeler mix and about 30lbs. The things I love the most are my people, snuggling, affection, and eating. I get along great with my dog siblings (even the real tiny one!). I’ve met some chickens. I barked at them but seemed scared and ran the other way.

I love my people so much I get so excited when I see them but I’m working on containing my excitement. After I get out my excited wiggles I’m a pretty calm boy! I love to be right by people, snuggle them, and sleep smack dab next to them!

I also looooveee to eat. I’m very food motivated but I sometimes need reminded that I’m not allowed to counter surf.
I love kids but would probably do best in a home without real little kids because I do have somewhat of a herding instinct. I also need someone to help me to keep learning as I grow because I’m still a puppy!

If your application is chosen and approved we will setup a meet and greet with the pet. You will hear back regardless if chosen or not.

We place the dogs in the best home not the first home. Please be patient while we go over all apps and we will be in touch.

We are foster based. You must apply on Crossyourpaws.com first. If your application is chosen as the best fit for the dog we will move forward with the approval process. Once approved you will be setup with a time to meet the dog. Our dogs are all over the greater Pittsburgh area.

Our decision to start a rescue is not one that we have taken lightly, it has come after years of volunteer work with other groups. Our goal is to make this world a place where starving, abused animals is a thing of the past. That shelters filled with dogs and cats waiting to be euthanized is unheard of. We want euthanasia to be something to help pets on their way to the Rainbow bridge not to end lives because of overpopulation. We vow to save every life that we can.
