Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.
Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list.
thanks

Date into Rescue: 4/14/2024
Reason for being in rescue: owner release
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Tea is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative
Weight: 44 lbs and growing - we expect Tea will be between 47-55 lbs when full grown
Height: 24 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $599
Fence needed? Yes, Tea requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller
What kind of home would be best for me? Tea is energetic and playful and would be a great companion for a family with kids. She is a young, active standard poodle that needs lots of physical and mental stimulation daily. Tea requires another active dog in the home for play and socialization.
Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Puppies are generally very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!
What is my personality like? Tea is a young, developing girl who was lovingly surrendered by owners who recognized she needed more than they could offer her. Tea is a curious and inquisitive girl who's learning so much with each passing day. She needs to develop her socialization skills with both humans and dogs - she simply hasn't had a lot of exposure in her first months of life. Tea walks on a leash but will need leash training. She needs to learn the basic commands like sit, stay, come, down, and the like. We believe as she matures, she will develop into a confident girl. To help with her training be sure and offer her treats, she LOVES treats, and affection as rewards for doing well. Also, set a routine for her potty schedule so she knows she will be going out the same time each day to do her business. Tea can be vocal, and her caregivers are working with her to limit this.
Tea is a very playful girl. She does well with other dogs, we don't know who she does with cats. She likes people but takes a moment to warm to them when first meeting. She hasn't played with toys yet but that could change when she's in her forever home.
This lovely girl is looking to become a loving member of a family. She is young and can adapt to nearly any home. Come give her a chance to show you how could a girl she can be. We're certain she'll be your cup of Tea.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Happy to see them but takes her time before warming up to you on first meeting. We expect she'll be a great companion for children.
Other tips and tidbits: According to vet records provided by her owners, Tea was born on 5/27/2023.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
