My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abby is a female domestic shorthair kitten with black fur. She was rescued from a partner rescue in January 2024 alongside her littermates, and we estimate her birth month to be December 2023. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, including her rabies vaccine.

Abby is playful and silly! She likes to play and cuddle with her foster brothers -- and follows them around everywhere they go! She is full of energy and makes funny noises when she is zooming around.

Abby's ideal foster home will be one where her family just allows her to be her fun and independent self. She's not going to be your lap cat (who knows, maybe she'll surprise us all one day and get there!) but instead, she likes to have the freedom to call the shots -- whether that's playing with her foster brothers, or lounging solo nearby. She knows she's loved in her foster home (and she is food motivated!), but she does remain skeptical of humans - and has a tendency to take retreat in a safe place if she needs some down time. If you're patient with her, she'll be patient with you.

Due to her obsession with her foster brothers, she is required to go to a home where another cat/kitten is present so she is not lonely. If you are interested in Abby, complete our adoption application here: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=BBTNKHMB .

Additional adoption info

After completing an application, a Windsor Kittens volunteer will reach out to you to talk to you about next steps including opportunities to meet the cat(s) if you haven't already done so.

Playdates will only be scheduled for approved applicants to protect the safety of our cats and foster families. Adoptions are matched based on best fit, not who applied for a particular cat first. Adoptions are not considered finalized until an adoption contract has been completed and the adoption fee has been paid to Windsor Kittens.

More about this rescue

Windsor Kittens got its start in 2022 when four women in the Windsor Park neighborhood of east Charlotte, NC came together to address the large number of community cats in their area. Since then, this grassroots organization has expanded its efforts to rescue more cats for adoption and help greater numbers of community cats through trap-spay/neuter-vaccinate-release (TNR). Windsor Kittens loves helping cats find their forever homes.
