My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey- it's me, Ozark. I'm a 1-2 year old, currently 55#- gaining to hopefully reach up to 80#, German Shepherd mix. Not sure if you followed my story, but I was a skinny guy who with some awesome peeps on my side have helped me gain enough weight to be safely neutered and then be adopted! I was told I'm totally smart- I mean they say sit, I do it- same as stay, leave it, and more... even PLACE (I know I'm an advanced student).

Ozark is crate trained, has had zero potty issues in the house, knows his basics and then some- but could use a bit more walks and leash time. This loveable guy has been around other dogs, is a guy who would rather chase a cat or squirrel over being BFF'S, and is recommended due to size to hang out with the older kid crowd. If you are ready to help this guy find place in your home, scroll down and find the needed ADOPTION APPLICATION.

**PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must live within an hour radius of Toledo, Ohio

*Ozark is set to be neutered on April 1- until then, apply and we will introduce you two- he is microchipped, current on shots, and on monthly heartworm/flea prevention
*His adoption fee is $300.00
*Visit the website, in the link below, to find the needed ADOPTION APPLICATION to aid in finding Ozark his forever home

Additional adoption info

Dogworks strives to place dogs into permanent homes based on the dogs' personalities and yours. To adopt a dog, we require a completed application, signed adoption contract, and home visit.

Adoption applications are available on our website (www.dogworksohio.com) and at all Meet & Greets. Once your application has been submitted, we will contact your references and consider suitability. You will be contacted by phone or email, typically within 4 business days, to discuss arrangements for adoption contract and home visit.

Adoption fees are variable (typically $125-$250) and are listed with the description of each dog. Adoption fee will be refunded if you decide that the dog is not compatible with your family within 2 weeks.

Adopted dogs must be returned to Dogworks in the event that they can no longer remain a member of your household for any reason.

All dogs have been updated on vaccines and tested for heartworm prior to adoption. Adult dogs and puppies older than 14 weeks are spayed/neutered. Adopters of younger puppies are required to sign an agreement to complete spay/neuter by 6 months of age. We will assist with spay/neuter costs. Adopters will receive a copy of medical records.

You may email us (Dogworksohio1@gmail.com) to see if the dog you are interested in will be at our next Meet & Greet. You can also make an appointment to meet any of dogs after an application has been submitted and approved.

More about this rescue

Dogworks is an all-volunteer, nonprofit group based in Toledo, OH, whose purpose is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned, neglected, and unwanted dogs. Our focus has been on sporting dogs, both purebreds and mixed breeds. Most dogs are rescued from euthanizing shelters, although some come to us from relinquishing owners or other means. All dogs are fostered in volunteer homes until adoption. We do not have a shelter or kennel facility.
