My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Khoshekh Gershwin-Palmer (after the fantastic cat from “Welcome to Nightvale”); I am 3 years old.

I used to be a stray and hung out a while in some nice folks’ barn until I turned up one day not using my hind leg. Those folks brought me in for x-rays, and it turned out I had a dislocated ankle with a fracture in one of the ankle bones. As you can see, I don’t need that leg anyway. I’m all healed up now and am looking for my permanent home. I am not on any medications; I have been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Since I only had the one extra leg and don’t have any more to spare, I am seeking an indoor-only home. I am good with other cats (shared the barn with a couple at my prior hang-out), and with calm dogs (per my foster home). I love to be petted and to chase toys and laser lights, and enjoy hiding in the bath towel drawer. I am very cuddly, and greet my foster mom at the door when she comes home.

If you are interested in adopting me, or would like to donate to my care, please contact Jes at docjesadams@gmail.com or 509-690-7343.

Additional adoption info

The adoption process is tailored to the individual animal. Please contact the foster home listed on each animal's description for specific information.

We have a basic application/adoption form to fill out, and ask for a donation based on the amount of money we've put into the individual animal. Many of our rescues have had extensive veterinary work before being made available for adoption, so we do not have a standard fee.

Go meet their pets

We don't have a shelter facility; each animal is placed in a foster home. Please contact the foster home to arrange to meet the pet you're interested in.

More about this rescue

We are a small operation, started by co-workers at a veterinary clinic to assist animals which were abandoned at the clinic. Sadly, this is a fairly common problem, and many veterinary clinics have had their share of boxes of kittens left on the front step. We primarily foster, treat, and re-home animals which are released to us for medical or financial reasons.

All animals posted here are fostered in a home or hospitalized at a veterinary clinic; we don't have a shelter facility. Because of this, we are unfortunately unable to take on very many animals at once, and will selectively take in animals that need more individual care, attention, and treatment than is available at a more standard shelter facility. All funding for these efforts comes from our own pockets or private donations; we are not government subsidized, nor do we receive grants. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so any donations are tax-deductible and much appreciated!
