My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Holly was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on November 29, 2023.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Holly, a delightful dog who is looking for her new home. This sweet girl's friendly demeanor and contagious tail wags stole our hearts from the start. Holly has a lot of energy and sometimes that comes out in her through jumps and bounces of excitement. It is important to provide her with plenty of physical and mental enrichment to ensure she can focus her excitement into positives. Thankfully, this smart girl does well with guidance and support, and food puzzles, kong toys, and other activities to keep her mind activated are a great place to start! She is also crate trained, and has some pretty great house manners! Due to her excitable nature, she would do best in a home without other canines and with children over the age of 8. Make sure to bring the whole family along to meet Holly and speak with our Behavior & Training team prior to adoption. Holly is ready to fill your home with tail wags and happiness. Come meet this charming pup! Don't forget to bring a leash and collar!

Excitable Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
