My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there! I'm Metcalf, a spirited American Pit Bull mix, somewhere around 1 to 2 years old. Life's been a bit of a rollercoaster lately-I found myself in a tough spot before landing in this shelter. I'm on the skinny side right now, but that's just a testament to the rough journey I've been on. It's been so long since I had a decent meal, I can barely remember the taste of one.

Right now, I'm on a stray hold, waiting to see if my owner will show up. But if they don't come forward in the next six days, I'll be ready to find a new home through adoption. The staff here is pretty awesome-they're getting ready to give me all my vaccinations and check me for heartworms. It's all part of making sure I'm healthy and ready for my next chapter.

I'll keep you posted as I learn more about myself and my journey to finding a forever home. Until then, wish me luck!

Approve Application

Once your application has been approved, you will then make sure contract is signed and pay adoption fee before leaving the shelter.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee for dogs is $100. Cat adoption fee is $40. Other animal adoption fees are quoted per animal. Adoption contract and application are required. Adoption fee includes micro-chipping of pet.

If adopting a dog/puppy, you must have a fenced in yard. Home checks are required and any previous history with animals, a vet reference is required.
