My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mocha, a sweetheart whose name perfectly mirrors her stunning mocha-colored coat. Mocha's journey with us began as a devoted mother to a litter of adorable puppies. Now that her puppies have found their new homes, it's Mocha's turn to find a loving family ready to shower her with the affection she deserves. Mocha is a testament to what a wonderful companion she can be; she's not only housebroken but also interacts harmoniously with our staff, showcasing her well-mannered nature. She understands the command "sit," indicating her eagerness to learn and please. Mocha's loving demeanor makes her the ideal addition to any family looking for a furry friend to cherish and nurture. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a truly sweet soul, Mocha is waiting to fill your days with joy and unconditional love.

Mocha's adoption price is $50. It includes her spay, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and starting her on heartworm prevention and flea/tick control. She has tested heartworm negative.

More about this shelter

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
