My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nutmeg is a beautiful Rottweiler mix that is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes in timid, shy dogs.  She is guessed to be around 3 years old.
She has had a challenging life and deserves nothing but the best Furever Home. She is healing nicely from her eye surgery! She has a very young playful energy. She loves people and enjoys being cuddled.

She is fully kennel trained and loves her kennel. She loves to be out in the dog run and is potty trained at her foster mom's house.  She is pretty good on the leash but because of her size and strength, she will need someone that will continue to put in the time to train her basic obedience.

There are lots of other dogs at her foster moms house so we know she is dog friendly, her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced properly.  She is pretty big and strong so her foster mom thinks she would do better in a home with adults or older kids only. She will need an adopter who will give her love and patience.

Please consider this adorable girl, who has gone through a lot, as a part of your new family. She deserves all the love in the world and will give you a lifetime of love. She has so much love to give and is looking for her FurEver Home.

Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter who is willing to help her with basic obedience training either with in person, or virtual training session(s). She will provide a discount on training.  The amount of training needed will depend on the knowledge and experience of the adopter and how far along Nutmeg is at the time of adoption.

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
