My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Alaska and I treat every human like they’re my new best friend!

On the streets I learned how to stand up to the other cats around town. Now I’m just looking for love and attention from people. In fact, I follow the humans around until they pet me, shower me with love, or settle in for a lazy cat nap on the couch. My hunger for affection is so strong sometimes I can’t help but get underfoot of my humans. I just can’t help being a lover at heart!

I also enjoy toys I can throw in the air and chase around. Sometimes I will even play “fetch” with the humans, which really seems to amuse them for some reason, so I happily oblige! I’ve heard them call me a “gentle giant,” since I’m pretty large for a 3 year old cat (weighing in at 11 lbs) with a long body. Sometimes I don’t realize my own size, which annoys some of the resident cats I live with apparently, but I just think of myself as a big baby.

My perfect home would be with humans (adults and older children) who can spend as much time with me as possible and are looking for a furry friend to become their second shadow. I get along with other cats who aren’t intimidated by my size and can handle a good wrestle session, but I’d also be perfectly content as the only feline in the house, so I can be at the center of my family’s attention.

Once you complete the online application using the below link, you will be able to discuss and ask questions directly to the foster parent. We believe this is a big advantage to you as our organization is completely foster based, we really understand our cats personalities at a deep level. This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family.

Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue. Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten.

Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day. Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet. We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier. If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day. If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $10 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home. We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies.

Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age. We are able to PayPal or most major credit cards for the adoption fee.
