Meet Super who recently came into our care but already we know that he is appropriately named. He is a super dog. His flopped down ears provide a frame for his face - a classic face to match his classic brown and black coloring. His eyes are searching and soulful as they look around for someone who wants to take him home and welcome him into their family. By nature, he is medium sized guy who will need protected outdoor space with room for playing. He will want someone to tell him often that he is a good dog because that is what he wants to be more than anything else. He wants to be your good dog. Picture it - you come home and there is Super who will be so excited to see you and ask why you left without him. A treat will gain his forgiveness and a walk will seal the deal. Want to know more? Come and ask to meet Superdog who does not have a cape but does have wet nose waiting to give you kisses. Not bad, huh?.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
