My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a Humane Law Enforcement.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Mr. Bucket and we have no idea how he got that name. If you become his lucky owner, you can change it. For now, we'll refer to him as MB. MB has two distinguishing marks on his face that look like Nike swooshes. One is over one eye and one is around the opposite ear. Together, they give MB a very interesting face. He is an easy to handle size with kind of short legs. He is easy to leash and easy to pick up. MB is simply one fine and easy dog. He wants to please and will do everything he can to please you. He will need some outdoor protected space and someone who gets him out and about often. If there are toys and balls around for playing, that will be good. He will prefer being close to his family - where they are, he will want to be. That might include your bed or your sofa or your favorite chair. If you are there, MB will be there. Want a close companion - close literally and figuratively ? If so, come and ask to meet Mister Bucket, of Nike swoosh fame. Bring a leash in case you go home together.!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
