My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Cooper
Meet Cooper, a 1 year old, perfectly-sized 45lb, Catahoula/Lab mix who is neutered, potty trained, leash trained, and ready to find his furever home! This gorgeous black and brown boy is great with other dogs and cats and has lived with kids as young as 7. Cooper is incredibly smart and will impress you with his nose! He is shy with new people and places, but just give him a few days to warmup (see 3-3-3 rule) and you will have the most loyal furever companion! Cooper would do well in a home with other dogs and someone who is home often. He is still a puppy and has so much love to give!

Where does the dog sleep? Upstairs in our bedroom, in a dog bed with the other dogs

About Cooper: Cooper is a very sweet and sociable young dog. He loves being around other dogs. He loves people but is still a little frightened when meeting someone for the first time (he spent almost all his life before us in a kennel with not a lot of human socialization). But he is super-gentle (no biting, no aggressive behavior we’ve observed). Cooper would love a home where he can get plenty of exercise – he is only a year old so he still loves to run and play.
He is extremely sweet-natured. We haven’t seen a hint of hostility or aggressiveness. He just wags his tail and wiggles his butt with joy every time he sees us. He is also extremely smart. He picks up commands like “sit” and “drop” very quickly.

If your foster were a celebrity, who would they be? Ben Stiller, because he is sweet and silly but secretly super smart.

If your foster dog were on a dating site, what would their profile say? Sweet silly shy boy seeks a lifetime playmate. Your patience will be rewarded with loyalty, grins and sloppy kisses.

Beach or Mountains? Both! Cooper had fun visiting Madrona Beach and watching the ducks this weekend. And he also loves our neighborhood trail here in the Highlands.

Squeaky/Bouncy/Chewy, what do they look for in a toy? All of the above, but especially squeaky.

Complete this sentence “My foster wishes they had a friend with whom they could share…..” Adventures, a bowl of warm popcorn, kisses, cuddles and zoomies.

What’s your foster’s favorite dessert? Peanut Peanut Peanut Peanut Butter!

Cooper's rescue story: Cooper was saved from euthansia in an overcrowded shelter in NM. He is currently in a foster home in the PNW waiting for his forever family.

Cooper"s adoption fee is $500
