My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Zena, a sweet, smart, and playful girl with an adventurous spirit. Once upon a time, I lived in a magical forest with other canines. One day, a spell was cast, and I found myself in this shelter. I'm not just any dog, I'm brave and independent, but also friendly and loyal. I enjoy the company of my fellow dogs and I'm a quick learner too, I know 'sit' and 'stay'. My energy is contagious, I promise to bring joy and playfulness into your life. If you're looking for a loyal friend who's up for any adventure, then I'm your girl!

More about this shelter

HHHS has been a permanent part of the Topeka community since its founding May 4, 1938. The organization is incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business for the purpose of sheltering companion animals in need of care, advocating for anti-cruelty protection of animals and promoting humane education and animal welfare issues. HHHS fosters the adoption of companion animals into responsible homes and reunites lost animals with their owners; promotes sterilization of animals to help reduce overpopulation; provides a facility accessible to the general public; serves the community with educational programs addressing animal welfare issues; and maintains a fiscally responsible organization.
