Mari Gold's journey began when she was brought in through transport, finding herself in search of a forever home. Initially reserved, she soon found her stride in a loving foster environment. In foster care, Mari Gold showcased her impeccable manners, demonstrating that she's housebroken, crate trained, and adept at commands like "sit" and "drop." She's currently working on mastering "down".
Despite outward appearance of confidence, Mari Gold is sensitive to her surroundings. Loud or bustling environments, such as busy streets, can overwhelm her, so she thrives best in tranquil neighborhoods and enjoys the security of a quiet walk and backyard where she can frolic. While she prefers to be the sole canine companion in her forever home, she revels in buddy walks with other social dogs, which helps boost her confidence during outings.
Mari Gold is seeking a low-density environment and a loving family who will cherish her as the precious gem she is.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
