My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tom is a beautiful orange tabby Maine Coon mix boy who is about 6 years old. He came to Healing Hearts from a rescue in East TN. Poor Tom was rescued with a huge necrotic wound on his neck. His rescue there had him stitched up and gave him antibiotics until he was fully healed. His fur is all growing back now and he is looking super fluffy now. Tom is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and on flea prevention.

He has tested positive for FIV, but that is really not a big deal. It is not contagious to other cats and he can live just as long as any other cat. He does not require any special care or medication. Tom is great with other cats and would probably be fine with older children. He is pretty scared of dogs so we think it was probably a dog that attacked him when he was living outside.

Tom is does require an indoor/outdoor home. If forced to stay inside, he will howl for hours and days until he is allowed outside. Tom does come with his collar and ID tag. We are saving up to get him microchipped and a blood panel done to help him get adopted. If you would like to donate toward his veterinary care, you can donate through Venmo to "Healing-Hearts". His adoption fee is $125. He is now fully litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting Tom, please complete the online adoption application. Go meet their pets

By appointment only. Email or text to schedule. We only have appointment availability on Saturday or Sunday in foster homes. We do have cats available at the Madison PetSmart every day. We are a foster home based rescue so all of our cats are not at the same location. This is why we need to know which cat you are interested in.
