My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Phoenix!

Phoenix is not just a name; it's a testament to resilience and courage. Born approximately on April 23, 2023, this extraordinary feline came into Eastshore's care as a stray during the bitter Wisconsin cold at the beginning of the year.

Thanks to the quick thinking of a concerned citizen and the compassionate staff, Phoenix was brought to the vet, where it was discovered she had suffered severe frostbite to her tail, ears, and paws. Despite the challenges she faced, Phoenix showed remarkable strength and determination throughout her recovery journey.

Although she lost most of her front paws and back toes, both ears, and part of her tail, Phoenix has emerged as a shining example of fortitude and grace. Her spirit remains unbroken, and her capacity for love knows no bounds.

Now spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations, Phoenix is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to find a loving inside-only home where she can receive all the spoiling she deserves. Despite her past hardships, Phoenix's sweet nature shines through, making her an incredibly special addition to any family.

Don't miss out on the chance to welcome Phoenix into your heart and home. Apply online today at eastshoreha.org, and once your application is approved, our staff will be delighted to schedule an appointment for you to meet Phoenix and witness firsthand the incredible spirit that defines her.

Let Phoenix be the beacon of hope and inspiration in your life. Apply now and open your heart to this remarkable girl who has overcome so much with grace and courage.

Additional adoption info

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:

1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.

2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.

Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.

Adoption Requirements:

1. Have verifiable identification

2. Be at least 18 years of age

3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home

4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered

5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier

6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
