My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello World,
I am a big happy playful baby. You would never believe just a few weeks ago I came into rescue. Well, actually I was abandoned in a park at 7 weeks old in a wooded area. A homeless man found me, made room for me in his backpack and started walking. The homeless man knew a lady who was always helping out when stray dogs were found or if a homeless person needed some dog food. So anyways, the homeless man found a lady at the park and asked her to take me.
Now this lady contacted the one who helps the homeless who contacted the rescue I am in now.
Today I am growing like a weed, have other puppies to play with, and enough food so I am always full and happy. I sleep in a crate at night, I am learning how to sit. I can make it all night without messing up in my crate. But during the day, I am still a puppy, learning. I LOVE the water, playing, snuggling, eating, sleeping, then repeating. I am ready to be adopted. Please fill out an application, submit a deposit to show your intention of adoption. I cannot wait to start my adventures with you!

We are very careful with our adoptions for these orphans are in our homes. They are family to us. If it does not feel right, there is probably a reason. The adoption is cancelled.

More about this rescue

My name is Carla Carlton. We (my husband and I) are retired militay. He served in the Air Force for 25 years. We have always done some sort of servicing the community. So, when we got ready to retire, we found a place we wanted to live and bought a home. Well, the town we lived in has/had a high kill shelter. This broke our hearts.
Around this same time, I met a lady who fostered for Friends of Homeless Animals, RI. One day I got a call from FOHA there was a poodle in our shelter and he was on the short list. I went and pulled him. Roie (FOHA), helped set me up to foster and list our orphans from here as a courtesy post. I am not sure how long ago it was, 16-18 years, I think. The rest is history. Through them and Mountain Pet Rescue, CO (and a few others in CO, UT, IA, IL, OR, CA, MS...), we have placed over 2400 dogs/ puppies and cats.
