My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name is Lena and I'm an innocent victim of a very messy divorce. I lived with my family for about 10 years. One day, my mom and human siblings left me behind nd moved away without telling me. I was heartbroken because my dad never really wanted me. Soon after the rest of my family left, my dad threw me away and I lived on the streets of West Haven for about 2 years before I suddenly became blind. I was so frightened, I didn't know where I was or what to do. A kind neighbor heard my cries and took me into her home. She began looking for a rescue group to come to my aid. That's when a volunteer from Foster and Forever stepped in and took me! I now live in a foster home with other cats and dogs, and I've been to the vet (who took care of all my needs). However, it is still unknown what caused my sudden blindness. I am a sweet, affectionate older lady with a pretty calico pattern and polydactyl paws, and despite my traumatic past, and I am now looking for my forever home!

Lena was born some time in 2012 and is currently being fostered in Watertown. She is fixed, is up-to-date on shots, is microchipped and tested neg for FIV/FeLV*.

All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.

Applications for adoption can be found at https://www.fosterandforever.org/

Our volunteers do their best to respond within 24 - 48 hrs.

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is for you to fill out an adoption application which can be found on our website, www.fosterandforever.org. If all is well on your application, we will contact you about setting up a home visit by one of our staff members.

****Please give your vet permission to release information to us as we check references.

The adoption fee for our cats covers the cost of spaying/neutering, age appropriate routine vaccinations, deworming, snap test, and flea preventive treatment. Some of our older cats are at a reduced price in order to encourage placement in a permanent home.

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Foster and Forever Pet Rescue!

More about this rescue

Foster and Forever Pet Rescue Inc, is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit rescue that was founded in 2011. We have been working since then to improve the lives of abandoned, abused and homeless animals by serving as an umbrella under which foster homes will provide care for homeless animals until loving permanent homes can be found.

We provide spay/neuter services, all necessary medical care, as well as food and supplies and more and find foster homes to care for the animals we rescue until we are able to find them forever homes.
