My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome floof is everything one could want in feline friend! Howie is super soft, social and a super affectionate guy! He was about to be tossed to the street by his original family because he had dental problems. They had had him for 10 yrs but they were going to leave him to fend for himself because his teeth were loose and hanging out of his mouth. He arrived to us crawling with fleas and worms and very advanced dental disease. We got him vet care and a dental and he is back to feeling amazing! This sweet boy is healthy and is looking forward to spending the rest of his life with someone special who will promise to take care of him for the rest of his life!

We appreciate you + we love our animals. Please be patient as this may take a few business days to check all personal + vet references.

We are a 100% foster-based organization so a day/time is coordinated with our amazing foster to meet the animal that caught your eye.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our contracts are digital + sent from our software database.

Pay Fee

We have several options for you to help us continue our work in matching animals with their forever family units.

At this time, Familiar Hearts Animal Society meetings are by appointment only.

We currently rely on our amazing web of generous fosters throughout the Philadelphia area and will do our best to make a meeting as convenient as possible for both human + animal.

Meetings will need to be coordinated through the foster of the animal you are interested in meeting.

Mission Statement: To end the unnecessary suffering of homeless companion animals by serving as a refuge and enabling humans to provide them quality and compassionate homes.

Our Vision: Our mission is two-fold; we want to help abandoned pets and we want to help stop pet abandonment.

We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
