My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Two words: THOSE. EARS!! Let us introduce you to adorable “little miss” Dobby. Dobby (female) found herself in an overcrowded shelter in Texas when her previous owners no longer wanted her…and sadly, surrendered her. Because of her ever-so-sweet personality, she was soon moved to a private foster home where she spent some time prior to her trip north. She now resides at a foster home in Wisconsin, has settled in quick, and is crossing her paws for a forever family to show her all about the wonderful things in life! Dobby was born on 10/26/23, so is now just over 6 months old. She weighs-in right around 40-45lbs (& is all legs and ears! ), and her paperwork lists her as a black lab mix…but — if we had to guess — definitely has some other mystery breeds mixed in. Dobby is a smart girl and a quick learner! She has learned how to sit, and really follows suit with the other dogs in her foster home. She is eager to play with and please them, and just wants them to be her buddies. She loves playing catch and chewing on bones. She wasn’t a huge fan of her kennel to begin with, but with plenty of positive reinforcement and practice…she is learning that her crate can be a safe space! Dobby adores people. She simply likes to be in their presence, but isn’t necessarily a big snuggler! She much prefers sitting next to you and/or laying on a bed nearby with the other pups. Because of this, we think she’d really benefit from having another doggy friend in her forever home! Her foster family has a resident kitty…and Dobby is very, very interested. So although it may take a proper introduction + plenty of maintenance, we do think she’d be able to coexist with a dog-savvy cat in the home. She would definitely do best in an active home — one that will take her on plenty of walks/hikes/adventures/etc.! She did visit the dog park once; it was scary at first, but after just a bit of time she gained confidence and then really enjoyed herself! She loves to romp and run (especially after the ball! ). She has only had one accident in her foster home, so is pretty much 100% potty-trained. She doesn’t have a strong tell for her humans quite yet, but is learning to wander near the door when she needs to be let out. On a consistent routine, she thrives! She truly is a sweetheart with such a great temperament and loving personality. If you think she sounds like the perfect fit for you, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Dobby!
