My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & HANDSOME GUY:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 45 lbs.

Hi, my name is Terrance!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and boy, am I happy to be part of the MM family now!  I am enjoying my time with the volunteers, and they love me – but I can’t wait to be in my new furever home – hopefully soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’ve met dogs at Mostly Mutts and was friendly with them with a proper introduction. If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. I wasn’t a fan of some dogs I met while in a temporary home, so again, let’s have a proper introduction. / I met cats recently at Mostly Mutts and I was hyper-focused on them – not in a good way, so no kitties, please. / I recently met kids around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and I liked them.  If you have kids at home, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet and happy tail-waggin’ boy!  I’m quite affectionate and – though I was a bit wary of the bath sprayer during my shelter bath, I sure enjoyed the massaging and brushing part!  The volunteers describe me as a ‘great dog’ – just a friendly fellow with the softest coat – just right for petting. I’m curious about everything I explore and have a goofy side that is sure to make you smile!  / My energy level is 4-6, higher at times.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘come’ commands so far.  I’m working on my leash manners now as sometimes I do pull. Check back soon to see my progress!  / My crate manners are pretty good at Mostly Mutts, though sometimes when it is time to go back in – I’d rather be with you.  Yummy kibble helps lure me in, though. I did well in my crate in my temp. home. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, and in my temp. home.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love being with people and have a blast in the playpen at the shelter with the volunteers – occasionally chasing the bee that is brave enough to get within reach of my mouth – lol.  If my new home has a fenced yard, I bet we can have a blast there too! I also love to be petted and have my handsome coat brushed.  I walk well on my leash (though I will sometimes try to grab my leash in my mouth).  I’m hoping for some great walks in my future as I love day trips with the volunteers and riding in cars. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I just had a good dental cleaning, so my mouth is nice and fresh!

I am looking for a home where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
