My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & FUN FELLOW:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 36 lbs.

Hi, my name is Finnegan!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I have been soaking up all the love from the volunteers ever since.  I’ve heard that it is now time to find my new family, and I can’t wait until that time comes!  I’m ready to start my new life with them – hopefully soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and I liked playing with them.  In my temp. foster home, I was a little jealous of the affection that my foster was giving to her own dog.  If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have kids at home, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet and calm fellow who has a bit of goofiness in me that is sure to bring a smile to your face – just ask the MM photographer.  My silly antics had her duly entertained.  I am a really fun dog who is waiting to be a great addition to a lucky family! / My energy level is currently 4 – 6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  A pretty smart student, I have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands as well as accept friendly strangers without jumping. Check back soon to see what else I have learned. / I don’t always like to go back into my crate after my time with the volunteers as I love being with people so much, but I can be motivated with a piece of Pup-peroni. / I've had just a few accidents on the shelter schedule and one my temp foster home, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can fully master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like spending time with people and am super nice on my leash while enjoying time outside with them.  I’ve not shown much interest in toys, but perhaps you can show me how much fun they can be. /           I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have very mild tartar and gingivitis, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I am looking for a furever family to share life’s adventures with!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
