My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Heather is big in personality and small in size! Growing up, Heather was always half the size of her siblings (literally!), and she has been hanging out with her foster family for months waiting until she was big enough for her rabies shot and spay – her siblings went to their forever homes months ago! Her foster family didn't mind the extra time with Heather, though, as she is a foster favorite with her friendly and outgoing personality and funny antics.

When Heather was a baby, she couldn't jump high enough to reach anything, so she taught herself to launch off different objects to reach where she wanted to go (this included climbing up legs to ride around on shoulders). Heather wants to be wherever the action is and is very curious and brave. She always looks surprised, and as tiny as she is, she has never grown into her big and bright green eyes! She makes her foster family laugh all the time.

Having Heather in your life is like having a forever kitten, as she will likely always be a tiny size. She LOVES everything and everybody, including people and other cats. She currently lives in a foster home with 2 blind foster brothers, whom she loves to snuggle with, and she also enjoys visiting the permanent cat residents in her foster home and makes herself comfortable wherever she is.

Heather won't be a good fit for someone who wants a lazy, lap cat. She isn't likely to want to sit on your lap, but she does want to be right next to you, watching your every move with interest or following you around. She likes crinkly toys, her cat trees (she likes her face in the sun), and purrs happily when she sees her canned food being opened.

Although Heather is old enough to be adopted alone, she would prefer having a high-energy cat friend who wants to play all. the. time. but is also ready for some good snuggling. Heather has never met a dog, but she is a brave girl and would probably enjoy a fun dog friend who can put up with her shenanigans (she doesn't realize how tiny she is).

Heather enjoys gentle children but would also be delighted to be the center of someone’s world. Heather’s family will be lucky to have such a unique and playful forever kitten!

More about this rescue

Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
