Meet Fred! This beautiful blonde brindle boy is a dachshund mix with an enviable coat and physique! Fred is 3 years old and weighs 12lbs. Fred came to us in bad shape, abandoned in an empty house when his previous owners moved out and didn't take him. Luckily, Fred rallied quickly with vet care and some TLC. He is now healthy, energetic, playful, and affectionate.
Fred is quiet and sleeps through the night. He is house trained and crate trained. Fred is a sensitive boy who loves physical affection and has a lot of love to give. He will climb onto your lap any chance he gets, nuzzle in, give kisses, and request skritches. Fred will jump for joy when its time to go for a walk, but can get overwhelmed by loud noises once outside - though this is improving every day! Because of this, he is still working on perfecting his leash skills. Fred is friendly with children, other animals, at the vet, in the car, and during excursions to dog-friendly venues. Friendly Fred is just friendly, period.
Fred thrives in the company of a playful and confident dog. Fred's ideal home has a fur sibling and a patient human who is understanding of his past and invested in cultivating his confidence. This sweet and smart boy will make a wonderful addition to the right home. Could that home be with you?!

Please visit www.hopeanimals.org/adopt to learn more about our adoption process and to complete an adoption application.
Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter*, microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, and current heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.
*If pet is not old enough to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, a $50.00 credit will be paid to your vet at the time of surgery.
We require a veterinary reference for current pet owners, and pets must be up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventative. We meet potential adopters in their homes and introduce the pets to the family's current pets to see if it is a good match. A copy of our adoption contract can be requested via email.
