My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mowgli! This sweet lady is estimated to be 11 years old. She's a Russian Blue and is very friendly with humans, and likes getting head scritches and belly rubs (in small doses, she is still a cat). She is looking for a new home through no fault of her own - we got a dog recently, and while we were optimistic about the two of them coexisting, it's clear that she is less than thrilled.

Unfortunately we can no longer give Mowgli the attention or space she deserves, so we're hoping to find her a new lap to warm. She would definitely be happiest as a solo pet. She doesn't like dogs, and she doesn't get along great with other cats. She lived with other cats when she was younger but she was never too thrilled about it. She has also been bullied by neighborhood cats in the past :(

Mowgli is mainly an indoor cat, but once she is familiar with her home she does like to explore outdoors. We often let her out to patrol the yard for an hour or so in the afternoon, and she never goes far. She can be pretty vocal, and is not shy about letting you know it's her breakfast time! Her favorite activity these days is snoozing. She likes laying in sunny spots, will cuddle with you at night, and is an excellent lap warmer. She can be timid at first in a new environment, but will warm up especially if there aren't other animals around to make her nervous.

Mowgli is untested around children, our best guess is that she'd be fine but cautious around them. As you can see in the photos, Mowgli is a chonky girl. She is spayed, and other than her weight she seems relatively healthy. However, she is not up to date on her vaccinations and is overdue for a vet visit. If this is an issue for you, feel free to reach out and we can discuss options! Overall if you're looking for an older cat that resembles a bowling ball and has a heart of gold, Mowgli is your gal! If you are interested in learning more about Mowgli please put in an application found at catscradlerescue.com under the word Adoption. Mowgli is mainly indoors only and her adopt fee is $40

More about this rescue

Cat's Cradle Rescue keeps cats out of shelters by offering an alternative to a cage - we are a no-kill FOSTER-HOME BASED rescue group that welcomes cats to our home environments as they await adoption.

Why Foster Care? Does your new kitty like children? Does she play with dogs or find other felines too uncomfortable to be around? Does he have consistent litter-box manners? Does he want to cuddle or perhaps his comfort zone is to be more independent. Many life-factors influence cat behavior and while genetics plays a role, we know that human touch, kindness, nurturing and consistency of care are non-negotiable requirements. We provide all of this.
