Meet Charleston, aka Charlie! Charleston has been through a lot in his life, from first winding up at a kill shelter, to being rescued by Wags and Whiskers, to being adopted for 7 whole years, in what he thought was his forever home, to being returned to Wags and Whiskers, scared and confused, to start the hunt for his final forever home, all over again. This sweet dude is shy around humans at first, especially after being let down so many times, but he is sure to warm up with the help of a doggy friend, and/or treats! Charleston does best around other canine companions that are not shy of human interaction; once Charlie sees other dogs happily interacting with humans, he sees that there is no harm, and lets his guard down. According to Charleston's former adopters, he would do best in a home with no children, or older & considerate children at least. If you have the time and patience to give to a sweet dog that has been burned too many times, please consider applying to meet Charleston today!
