My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Budro! At 100 pounds, Budro is a big boy, but don't let that fool you. He is an absolute gentleman and who doesn't love an older gentleman? Budro does have some anxiety issues, but with time, he adjusts quite well back to his calm, docile, laid-back nature.

Budro is an absolute couch potato, but you won't ever catch him lounging on the couch as he will be very sneaky about it and do it when you are not home. He is house trained, even when left alone for extended periods of time. He loves to lay in his dog bed and does just fine home alone unkenneled. He loves to go for walks as long as they are not too far. Budro is currently overweight, but he is dieting and exercising and hopes to shed some pounds. While he doesn't mind his voluptuous figure, his joints surely do mind.

Budro is older but still has plenty of love to give at 8 years young. Other than his weight, he is perfectly healthy for his age. He would do great with a family that is older but still slightly active so that he can continue to slim down, or even with a family that has older children. He is great with other dogs of any age and size but would be best in a home that does not have cats.

Budro came to Northstar with the hopes of finding a family that would see him through his golden years. His original owner sadly could no longer care for Bud or for himself, so he was left to make a tough decision of letting Bud go to a new family that could better care for him. Bud is currently with a foster in San Antonio Texas but he will be making the trip to NJ to find his forever home.

If you are interested in meeting this sweet, mellow boy, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for him by name - BUDRO TX!

More about this rescue

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. For these animals, there is not much hope…except to look in the night sky for the North Star, their only way out. We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to saving these innocent dogs and finding them a new forever home. NorthStar Pet Rescue was founded in 2017, and although we might be a relatively new name among New Jersey animal rescues, you may recognize some of us from the work we’ve done volunteering with other rescues to help animals over the past decade. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals. NorthStar Pet Rescue is IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 81-5348036).
